MAKING SPACE has been created as a way of demonstrating how engagement can bridge the gap between unused spaces and art accessibility. It is a SPACE that can be a meeting point, a place for sharing, producing or even to disseminate how SPACE can be used.
It is designed to be an inclusive SPACE to welcome anyone curious enough to see what it’s all about.
The SPACE, located with Bow Street Mall (Lisburn), also offers a chance to exhibit work or to create in a shared workshop / studio environment, at zero cost. Perhaps you are interested in sharing your work but don’t know where to start. This could be the place.
While it won’t be possible for artists to sell their work directly in the SPACE, private sales / commissions can be arranged with any interested parties.
The MAKING SPACE project does not receive any funding, which means that unfortunately there isn’t a budget to pay artists for their involvement. Hopefully, the offer of free SPACE to exhibit and create as well as the chance to engage with others will go someway to negate this.
If you’re interested in using the SPACE, email firstname.lastname@example.org with some examples of what you do.
